Once upon a time there was a 1964 Austin Mini Cooper, not the one above, that was another Mini Cooper of mine and a completely different story. No, in October 1979...

...this beauty came into my life. It wasn’t in the best of health as you can see, but at least someone had fitted some Cooper S reverse rims at some point.

Above is my young self holding the really quite mangy door ajar. At least there were a couple of spare wheels in the boost, which was handy...

For a while I did manage to tidy it up with a respray, before it fell into disrepair for a while and just surviving until it was patched up and you know what, it looked pretty good for a while, good enough to be the star of this book here...

Some bits of trim were held on with Blu Tac and up close the paint wasn’t brilliant. And then it went back in the garage before a final mini makeover, but the cracks were starting to show.

So we shoved it in the back of a Transit and pointed in the direction of Ipswich....

It’s Alive!

Proof that My Mini Cooper is unwell but on the mend, it will only take 25 seconds of your time. Oh and a further 40 seconds to look at the undercoat covered bodywork.
